Dr. Kleiman holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Michigan State University. He is currently an Associate Professor of Finance at Oakland University, where he has been named recipient of the 1992 Lorenz/Texas Instruments Teaching Excellence Award. Kleiman has also taught at Babson College and the University of Hawaii's Pacific-Asian Management Institute. He is a Certified Cash Manager, as well as a member of several professional organizations, including the Financial Management Association, Treasury Management Association, and Financial Executives Institute.
Kleiman is the author of four books on finance topics for the American Management Association. These texts have been adopted for use in continuing education programs by a number of professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also contributed to many publications, books, and journals.
Kleiman has conducted training seminars for several major corporations, including Michigan Bell, Ford Motor Company, and Volkswagen. He has also lectured for various professional organizations. Kleiman has consulted for a number of leading firms and is frequently quoted in the popular business press, such as Fortune, Money, the Wall Street Journal, and Crain's Detroit Business. He is currently Governor of the Heartland Institute, a Detroit-based think tank, as well as a Heritage Foundation Salvatori Fellow.
