LaFaive, director of the Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative at the Mackinac Center, was interviewed on "The Frank Beckmann Show" on WJR 760AM regarding Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s 2008 State of the State speech. LaFaive explained that Mackinac Center experts have tallied the number of times governors mentioned expanding or limiting the scope of government in State of the State addresses dating back to 1969, and in her 2008 address Gov. Granholm set a record with 24 mentions of government expansion compared to four limitations. The interview is 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
