DAVISON — The Davison board of education voted to hire D.M. Burr
Facilities Management Inc. to provide nighttime cleaning services to the
district, according to the Davison Index. None of the district’s current
custodians will be let go, but instead will be moved to daytime positions.
Cleaning schedules at several buildings had been reduced to less than once a day prior to the move. The district did not have enough staff to provide the services, as previous employees who retired or resigned were not
replaced.
"We’re actually going to get some services back, and we’re not
going to have to cut instructional services. Our first priority is teaching
kids," school board President Kim Lindsay told the Index.
