The community is invited to this presentation by the director of public advocacy for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.

Aaron Terr will be featured in a lecture that will explore the role of the government versus market forces in enabling free and responsible speech. The visit coincides with the theme of this year’s Bauervic Essay Contest for high school and Northwood students.

The mission of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression is to defend and sustain the individual rights of all Americans to free speech and free thought — the most essential qualities of liberty.

This year’s Bauervic Essay Competition’s topic is: Censorship, Fake News and Viewpoint Discrimination: What is the role of the government versus market forces in enabling free and responsible speech?

All high school students are eligible, including private, public, homeschooled and international students. Currently enrolled Northwood University undergraduate students and Northwood University DeVos Graduate School students are eligible to participate in the college competition.
