Kelly William Cobb is senior strategist at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and host of the Mackinac on Michigan Radio Show on WJR 760AM in Southeast Michigan.
Previously, Kelly served as senior director of external affairs at the Cato Institute where he led a team overseeing government relations and third-party outreach. He also served as state and federal government affairs manager for Americans for Tax Reform where he managed outreach to Congress and federal agencies on select issues as well as all tax issues in sixteen states, including Michigan. As part of those roles, Kelly developed a passion for building and managing coalitions around various issues which he brings to the Mackinac Center.
Apart from his work with the Mackinac Center, Kelly is the third-generation owner of his family’s restaurant business in Birmingham, Michigan, and is involved in state and local politics in Oakland County. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. He resides in Birmingham, Michigan, with his wife and four children.
