Julie Meyer is a graduate of Central Michigan University in family economics and management with twenty-plus years of experience in database management. The former director of advancement and database administrator at Northwood University, Meyer was in charge of all donor and alumni information. She worked at Northwood for over two decades, working her way up from database administrator.

She joined the Mackinac Center in part to inspire her son, who was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes in 2011.
