Dave Aussicker is the former vice president for advancement at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, an independent, non-profit research and education organization located in Midland, MI.
Aussicker received a graduate fellowship and earned a doctor of philosophy degree in public policy studies and higher education administration from the University of Michigan. He attended Hope College and earned a bachelor of philosophy degree from Grand Valley State University.
Immediately before joining the Center, Aussicker was Assistant Professor and Director of the Heritage Society at Old Dominion University. Prior positions in academia include: Director of University Development at The American University, Assistant Dean at Tulane University, Director of Academic Programs at The American University, Vice President of Development at Kendall College, and Assistant to the Provost at Oakland University. Aussicker was a senior consultant in philanthropy with Monaghan Associates, Inc. and founding Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation.
Aussicker has been involved with many community organizations including historic preservation societies, youth soccer leagues, city economics clubs, chambers of commerce, and city libraries. He and his wife Janice have children attending Midland Public Schools and a daughter attending James Madison University in Virginia.
