Join the Mackinac Center for its Issues and Ideas forum with Dr. Richard Vedder, professor of economics at Ohio University, at noon on Oct. 22 at the Michigan Restaurant Association, 225 W. Washtenaw St. in Lansing. A complimentary lunch will be provided for those who register by Oct. 18.
Dr. Vedder, an adjunct scholar with the Mackinac Center, co-authored "Michigan Higher Education: Facts and Fiction," published in 2007. He has also authored more than 100 scholarly papers in books and academic journals.
The cost for a college education is skyrocketing, increasing at a higher rate than even health care. The total student loan debt in America recently topped $1 trillion.
