MIDLAND — "The Mackinac Center for Public Policy will not withdraw its friend of the court brief in the DPG York v. Michigan case, despite a political call to do so," said Mackinac Center Director of Communications Christopher F. Bachelder this morning.
"The state’s approach to selling the former site of the Ypsilanti State Hospital not only sends a destructive message to entrepreneurs about preferential treatment for high-profile competitors, but violates the state constitution," added Bachelder. "These failures by a Republican Legislature and a Democratic governor hurt job growth in Michigan, and we will continue to be an independent voice on behalf of better public policy for all of Michigan’s citizens."
