On October 31, 2003, the Mackinac Center for Public Policy dedicated its library in the name of its late senior vice president.
Among the display items on the walls of the Joseph P. Overton Library are words from one of the eulogies delivered at Joe's funeral on July 7. Entitled "The World Needs More ...", they describe the essence of Joe's impeccable character and underscore the need for more people of similar integrity.
