Join the Mackinac Center for a virtual town hall with two leading lawmakers representing two states making very different policy decisions in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
We will open with remarks from Mackinac Center President Joseph Lehman, followed by Tennessee State Senator Jon Lundberg, a Michigan native, and Michigan State Representative Aaron Miller. They will discuss the very different approaches taken in Tennessee and Michigan to reopening society and the impact those decisions are having on people and society.
We'll address some critical lessons learned from the experience of one small town that straddles the state line between Virginia and Tennessee, where businesses on one side of the downtown street began to safely thrive again while the other side’s doors remain shuttered.
Join us to hear the stories about what life’s like on both sides from Sen. Lundberg, and how Rep. Miller believes Michigan can pave a safe way forward for restoring a vibrant society and allowing Michiganders to reclaim their livelihoods.
This event will take place on Wednesday May 20 at 11 a.m. EDT. To RSVP and receive access to the forum, please register below.
