Operations Office Assistant
Kara Malkowski joined the Mackinac Center team in 1999 and has worked both full- and part-time in several capacities including database management, member services and web editing. She is currently the operations office assistant who provides back-up phone coverage, sends out welcome packets to new members, manages the Center's email distribution lists, manages incoming Debate Workshop reservations and coordinates annual school district FOIAs. In addition to her operations duties, she posts and edits web materials and provides any needed support to the advancement and communications departments.
Prior to joining the Center, Malkowski worked for Marquette University’s advancement department. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Outside of work, Kara is a natural childbirth advocate, a licensed infant foster parent and a Cantor at her Parish. She resides in Midland, MI with her husband and four daughters.
