On February 28, 2013, the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit on behalf of three Taylor School District teachers who say they are being forced to pay union dues and fees for the next decade. These teachers are taking legal action against their union (the Taylor Federation of Teachers Local 1085) and the school district for approving a side agreement to deny them their freedom under Michigan's right-to-work law.
